National Carnival to be held in Pskov
Pancake Day this year falls on the week from February 28 to March 6. On March 3 (Thursday) begins "wide riot" or "wide Carnival." In these days - from 3 to 5 March - will be held in Pskov National Pancake Day. A festival will be held in the historic city center - on the territory bounded by streets Nekrasov, Sverdlov, the Soviet and Valea lane where are the famous monuments of XVII century - Pogankiny House and Garden Podznoeva. At the time of the celebration on the city map will include new streets: Pancake Prospect Crepes area, mischievous, and removing the street, Ice and bast lanes. And together with them in the center of Pskov behind closed gates will be colorful erected a new city - "Pancake degrees, with the elegant streets and squares, obzhornymi series, towers and houses, populated by funny characters, good friends since childhood. Instead of the usual bus routes Shrovetide town will run dog sleds.
There will be craft town Fair with all sorts of treats, pancakes and pies, yard ice sculptures and, of course, several scenic sites. Navigate the Pancake town guests to help special pointers to programs for all platforms. Shrovetide festivities will end the traditional burning of the Dolls "Pancake Day".
